Gold Script
Is there a tradition regarding the colour of embroidery on a black belt?
A Sensei once told me that a Karateka can only have their belt embroidered with Silver script if they hold the rank of 3rd Dan. Is this true? I was told Shodans have gold script and higher grades may have red script. I train in Shotokan Karate, but I’ve never come across any hard and fast rules concerning the colour of the embroidery script. Thanks in advance.

that depends upon the dojo / organization, there really is no set standard
